GJP are pleased to announce the approval of two separate planning applications at committee today.

The first approval was for a hybrid application in Hereford City Centre, including detailed proposals for a student accommodation scheme, and outline proposals for a standalone commercial element. The student scheme comprised of 178 bedrooms, and included hard and soft landscaping.

The site is primarily to serve as accommodation for students of the Hereford College of Arts, and as a result the proposed design includes internal and external areas where creative artwork will be displayed.

In reaching a decision, the Council and Members recognised the need for purpose built student accommodation in Hereford, as well as the associated social and economic benefits.

The second approval of the day was for a sand dressed synthetic turf hockey pitch with associated club house, lighting, fencing and access features at Holy Family Catholic School in Keighley. The development will provide a high-quality sporting facility, for the benefit of the pupils and wider community.
