GJP are delighted to announce that Full Planning Permission has been granted for the construction of a Dairy Processing Facility at Pembrokeshire Food Park, Haverfordwest, on behalf of our client Pembrokeshire Creamery Ltd.
The new facility will receive, process, bottle and dispatch dairy milk from Pembrokeshire to a range of national and regional businesses, and will be the only British Retail Consortium Standard facility to offer Welsh milk that is also bottled in Wales. Essentially, the scheme will reduce food miles, increase supply chain efficiency and support local farming and communities.
The application was approved unanimously at Pembrokeshire County Council Planning Committee, and it was deemed that the proposal will result in the creation of significant economic benefits in Pembrokeshire.
The development is to be supported through investment funding from the Welsh Government European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development – the Food Business Investment Scheme. It is envisaged that, when fully operational, the facility will have the capacity to bottle a million litres of milk per week.
Huge credit goes to members of the team who helped achieved this approval, including the various number of staff at Pembrokeshire Creamery Ltd.
