GJP have secured planning permission and listed building consent for the alteration and extension of a Grade II Listed farmhouse in the Vale of Glamorgan, which is also a locally listed County Treasure. The proposals will allow the renovation and restoration of the Listed farmhouse, which was previously inhabitable due to significant damage.
The Old Barn, which was within the curtilage of the farmhouse at the time of the buildings Listing, was also granted planning permission and listed building consent, for the demolition of an existing lean-to and replacement with a single storey extension. Officers considered that the extension, although contemporary, maintains the farm yard setting and is more suited when compared to that which exists at present. As such, it was deemed to preserve the character and setting of the listed building.
