The University of Gloucestershire appointed Cityheart as their preferred Strategic Development Partner to provide 500 student rooms in Gloucester City Centre across two phases. Cityheart’s role involved the design, build, financing and long-term management/operation of the accommodation and associated facilities.
GJP assisted with the competitive Preferred Developer selection process, and acted as planning consultant for the entire scheme, for a student accommodation scheme comprised of circa 500 bedrooms. The scheme comprises studio flats, cluster flats and town houses across a number of buildings, in addition to leisure and amenity space, new pedestrian access points, parking and hard and soft landscaping. The scheme transformed the site and improved connectivity in Gloucester City Centre in line with the Council’s aspirations for redevelopment of the City.
GJP secured planning permission across two planning and related applications for the two phases forming the overall scheme.
The promotion process included input into the Supplementary Planning Document produced by the Council as a precursor to the planning application process and stage, and the promotion, to positive conclusion, of the two planning applications.
