Project overview

GJP secured Planning Permission for a Mixed-Use scheme in the City Centre of Swansea–a Biophilic Living ethos of living. The proposal will see the re-development of the existing building along with the provision of new retail, office and residential accommodation.

A new 12-storey tower is sited to the rear, together with public realm improvements (a multi-functional space to complement the emerging Digital Village proposals adjacent).

The scheme will promote significant green infrastructure throughout the building. The proposals will help to achieve the regeneration goals of Swansea City Centre and can inspire the next stages of the regeneration of the City Centre.

Outcome

GJP secured planning permission for the scheme – a first for the UK. This pioneering project, the result of extensive collaborative working among a range of local organisations, has been awarded funding through the Welsh Government Innovative Housing Programme. It will trial a new, scalable model that is set to transform the way we conceive of inner city housing in Wales.

Biophilic 1
I had known of Geraint’s good reputation when an opportunity arose of working with him on a scheme. I must say his reputation was fully deserved. Detail and thoroughness, with an excellent understanding of policy, all wrapped in a most professional approach. I would recommend him and his team to anyone contemplating a planning application.
