GJP secured Planning Permission for the site’s redevelopment within a former quarry. The scheme provided for and contributed to the significant need for additional market and affordable housing within the City of Swansea.
Once completed the scheme will have around 300 houses and bungalows with green open spaces and unique recreation and open space facilities, taking advantage of the quarry void.
GJP acted as lead consultant throughout the planning process, secured Officer recommendation for approval, and subsequently planning permission on appeal (following an Informal Hearing). The scheme, being the redevelopment of a complex former quarry and landfill site, was of a complexity that necessitated Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). GJP co-ordinated the compilation of the necessary Environmental Statement, having first Screened and Scoped the EIA with the Council.
