GJP secured Planning Permission for change of use and conversion of the first and second floors of the elegant distinctive landmark building ‘The Merrie Friars’, Barry, to create 6 spacious luxury residential apartments with garden roof terraces and balconies.
Located on the seafront area of Whitmore Bay (and within the Marine Conservation Area over looking Barry Island Beach and Pleasure Park), the historic building was seen as a ‘not positive’ building within the conservation area. The “high quality” development however brought about a benefit in conservation terms – enhancing the character of the building and setting at Barry Island.
