An open market and affordable housing led mixed use development comprising 38 affordable dwellings, 32 market dwelling and a new hotel in St Davids.
The site received unanimous approval at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Committee in June 2018. The scheme was found to be in keeping with the aims of the LDP, in that the development was considered to provide further housing and affordable housing for the local area, whilst the hotel would bring economic benefits and promote year-round tourism – whilst sustaining the local character of the National Park and the setting of the approach to the historic City.
GJP successfully delivered planning permission on this highly contentious site, on the gateway to the City. The scheme realised the delivery of the first new build Premier Inn in a UK National Park location.
The scheme proposals were unanimously approved by the Planning Committee of the National Park Authority. This outcome followed, and was secured, as a result of considerable detailed pre-application dialogue with the Authority, and extensive public engagement and consultation.
